Raiden won’t be duking it out alone. Platinum Games’ rebooted Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance title hopes to include new playable characters as well as downloadable mission post-release of the game.
According to an article on gamerzines.com, the topic came up in an interview with Kojima Productions producer Yuji Korekado, when asked about the possibility of an online multiplayer mode.
His response?
We don’t have any plans for competitive online play or anything like that. However we do have plans for some download content after the release from the game that will allow you to play maybe as a different character or some new missions.”
So what other characters could we be fighting as? Could we see a return of maybe Solid Snake? And maybe a return to some classic locales from the Metal Gear series as part of the new missions DLC.
You’ll have to wait until after the release of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is set for release in early 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.
