Pokemon Black and White 2: Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Now yesterday, we revealed some important information from Serebii.net relating to the new Pokemon titles in the franchise, and last night, a gameplay trailer hit Youtube. Take a look.

Now this might be the first non-expansion-title Pokemon game I’m excited for, not because we return to the old Unova, but it has the feeling of an entirely new Pokemon game in itself. GTA Gamers will keep you posted on any updates in this developing story.

Pokemon Black and White 2 will be a direct sequel, not an expansion

New information was revealed through CoroCoro this week that detailed some very interesting developments in the upcoming Pokemon Black and White 2 games.

According to Serebii.net, Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 are set within the Unova region 2 years after the events of Pokémon Black and Pokémon White, and as such, a lot has changed in the region. Areas have been renovated such as Route 4 while others have undergone drastic changes. The game begins in a previously inaccessible part of Unova to the southwest as you take control of a character who lives in Hagoichi City, with their childhood rival. There are various other new areas in Unova, with their own new Gyms and Gym Leaders.

Black 2 & White 2 features a Pokédex that contains Pokémon from various other regions of the game, with the dex having 300 Pokémon within it before the National Pokédex is obtained, making it the biggest regional Pokédex.

New images also surfaced that featured new characters as well as examples of the new partially frozen Unova region.

The game is expected for release in Japan on June 2012, but a release date for North America and Europe has not been confirmed. The game will be playable on the Nintendo DS (not 3DS).
